Что это за здание? (1)

What is this building [for]?
     
1 Мне нравится эта улица; как она называется? (2) This street pleases [to] me; how is it called?
     
2 Это улица Горького (3); она самая красивая в городе. It is Gorki['s] street ; it is the most beautiful in the town.
     
3 A это что за большое здание налево ? And what is this [it is what for] large building on the left?
     
4 Это Народный Дом (4).
Там театр, кино, библиотека и разные организации.		 This is the People's House.
There (is) a theatre, cinema, library, and various organizations.
     
5 Вот кажется американская машина. Here is, seems (to me), an American car [machine].
     
6 Нет; модель американская, но машина русского производства. No, the type [model] is American, but the car is of Russian make.
     
7 Прекрасная (5) машина; я хотел 6ы иметь такую. (It is) a splendid car; I should like to have such a one.
     
8 Она наверно не дешёвая (6);
но посмотрите на эту маленькую (7) направо.		 It is certainly not cheap;
but look at [on] this small (one), on the right.
     
9 Тоже ничего; но нельзя её сравнить с другой (8). Not bad either [also nothing]; but one cannot compare it with the other.
     
10 Конечно нельзя; а всё-таки недурна. (9) Surely, one can't; but anyway (it is) not bad-looking.
     
11 Посмотрите на меня; сравнить; народ. Look at me; to compare; the people.
12 маленький; прекрасный; прекрасно; дурно; дурной (9). small; splendid, perfect ; perfectly ; badly ; bad.

Посмотрите на это здание : оно самое красивое в городе.

Look at this building; it is the most beautiful in the town.
     
4 Это по-моему совсем не дорого; даже дёшево. In my opinion, this is not dear at all; (it is) even cheap.

Вот дешёвое перо; но оно никуда не годится.

Here is a cheap pen ; but is is worth nothing.
     
6 Я хотел бы немного хлеба. I should like a little [not much] bread.
     
7 Вы что хотите пить, вино или пиво? What do you want to drink, wine or beer?
8 Телефон там, направо от вас. The telephone is there, on your right [right from you].
9 Позвоните мне до вечера. Ring me up before [until] to-night.
10 Здесь всегда много народа. (There are) always many people here.

Short form; дурная погода, bad weather; дурной мальчик, a bad boy.
— Дурно, bad(ly) . Это не дурно, this is not bad.
